The Women Veterans Museum in Mt. Pocono, PA — the only known veterans’ museum in the country not on a military base — will be holding a dinner celebrating the accomplishments of women in the Armed Services and the 75th Anniversary of the signing into law the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act.
The celebration will take place at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, 100 Shawnee Inn Drive, Shawnee on Delaware, PA, on September 16, 2023, at 6 p.m.
Sevieng “Kimmy” Suparat, POW from the Vietnam War will be among the speakers.
Cocktails, dinner, dancing, entertainment, drawings, and special guest speakers will highlight the night at the Shawnee Inn. Reservations are required and seating is limited. Please go to our website to reserve your spot.
Women have been active in the military since the War of 1812, many times without the recognition, status, and benefits that were granted to men. We will highlight the contributions and successes of women in the military.
The primary objective of the museum is to educate the community on the roles and contributions of women members of the United States Armed Services. Our goal is to uplift, strengthen, and transform veterans, military personnel and their families’ lives through activities, services, and programs. These include but are not limited to developing and coordinating recruitment opportunities, educating, mentoring, and networking.
