The Dingmans Ferry Historical Society invites you to a celebration of the Lenape Nation who are descendants of the original inhabitants of eastern Pennsylvania. Adam Waterbear DePaul, Chief of Education and Tribal Storykeeper will discuss the past and present of the Lenape people in PA. We will have many activities throughout the day including dedication of Lenape artifacts for the museum, native drumming, crafts, museum tours, storytelling and the signing of a treaty. The Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania is actively pursuing recognition by the state, with the support of many community friends and partners in Pennsylvania. Please join us by signing a public treaty, to acknowledge the Lenape people as the indigenous stewards of their homelands and also as the spiritual keepers of the “Lena’pe Sippu or Delaware River.”
