From the desk of John the Marine
As the nation continues to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to provide an update regarding the annual Monroe County Toys for Tots program. Serving as the Toys for Tots Coordinator, the health and safety of our volunteers and community is my top priority. Therefore, due to the ongoing restrictions with the coronavirus pandemic, we will not be providing distribution boxes or accepting toy donations for the 2020 Monroe County Toy for Tots campaign drive.
We are going to maneuver around and within the pandemic safely in order to bring hope to children in need. Due to the financial toll of the coronavirus pandemic, I anticipate many more families to be seeking support from Toys for Tots this year, many more than normal; therefore the Monroe County Toys for Tots program will be accepting monetary donations at the following website:
In keeping with the philosophy “Bring the Joy of Christmas to Less Fortunate Children” the Monroe County Toys for Tots 2020 program will continue to support and meet the needs of our community through the Salvation Army and Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network annual toy distributions. The toys, books, and other gifts collected and distributed to these organizations offer children recognition, confidence, and a positive memory for a lifetime.
No matter what it is, Marines are always able to adapt and get the mission accomplished. And that’s what Toys for Tots is going to do this year. Thank you for your understanding, assistance, and yearly support of the Monroe County Toys for Tots Program.
